AJ Abdelnour, a Michigan State University alumnus, completed his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience in 2022 while simultaneously exploring a minor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He excelled academically and consistently earned a spot on the dean's list, exemplifying his dedication to his studies. In 2019, leveraging his passion for innovation and business, he co-founded Above 10 Landscaping LLC.
Launching Above 10 Landscaping
AJ initiated his landscaping venture in Plymouth, Michigan, by creating Above 10 Landscaping. The company quickly established itself by servicing over 50 clients annually across Wayne County. His company is well-regarded for delivering various services, including hedge trimming, weeding, leaf cleanup, and installing multiple landscape elements like mulch, decorative stones, and sprinkler systems. Additionally, his teams undertake significant hardscaping projects, enhancing residential and commercial properties with new patios and terraces.
His leadership ensures that his crew, comprising two teams of four, not only meets but exceeds the landscaping needs of their clients, transporting materials and disposing of waste efficiently and sustainably.

His approach integrates thorough planning and execution, ensuring each project is completed on schedule. One standout project involved rejuvenating a neglected front yard into a beautiful, inviting space. In another case, his team cleared a dense, overgrown yard, enhanced it with new soil and grass seed, and creatively arranged discovered rocks to add aesthetic value.
A Passion for the Outdoors and Community
Outside of his professional life, AJ Abdelnour is an avid enthusiast of board sports such as wake surfing, skateboarding, and snowboarding, which underscore his connection to nature and his passion for the outdoors. His educational background includes his time at Catholic Central High School in Novi, Michigan, where he excelled academically with a 4.33 GPA and shone as a high-scoring point guard and co-captain of the basketball team.
During high school, his part-time job at Meadows Fine Wine and Liquor in Farmington Hills provided him with early business and customer service experience as he managed inventory and handled transactions.
Commitment to Volunteering and Making a Difference
Abdelnour's dedication to his community is evident through his extensive volunteer work. He has been a positive force at St. Mary's Montessori in Livonia, Michigan, overseeing children and organizing outdoor activities. He has also been involved with Focus Hope in Detroit, where he helped design and coordinate the construction of a community garden that serves as a refuge and resource for local children.
Additionally, he has coached young athletes at Get Skillz Basketball and Hoopdrillz Basketball Academy, emphasizing skill development and teamwork. His international outreach includes a recent volunteer trip to Jamaica, where he and a group of volunteers provided critical services to 300 locals.
